The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science welcomes postgraduate research students to the following advanced training event, organised by the Social Work pathway.
This two-hour seminar will provide an invaluable opportunity for resarch postgraduate students across Scotland (and beyond) to learn more about the mixed methods research paradigm. Professor Julia Brannen is Professor of the Sociology of the Family at the Institute of Education, University of London. She is a leading international scholar in family life, work-life issues and intergenerational relations and is particularly well known for her expertise in mixed methods, about which she has published widely. Mixed methods is an ideal subject because of its relevance across the Social Sciences. It is an increasingly widely used methodological paradigm.
Professor Brannen's seminar will last up to two hours; the first half being her presentation, followed by a short refreshment break, then questions and discussion.
Participants should register here.
