Matjaz Vidmar Matjaz

Matjaz is a PhD student in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies Subject Group, in the School of Social and Political Science, at The University of Edinburgh. He also has very close links with the Business School and the School of Physics and Astronomy. A Physicist by training, he has transitioned into Social Science and is now researching innovation and business incubation in the Astronomy and Space Sector in Scotland, such as in satellites and ground-based telescopes, for which he is in receipt of an ESRC Pathway Studentship through the SGSSS. Matjaz's other interests span History, Philosophy and Sociology of Astronomy and Innovation and he holds a variety of roles in national and international organisations both in the field of Space Exploration as well as in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies. He has an extensive experience representing students at all levels of higher education system and welcomes any issues and feedback from students – please, do get in touch.
